Mr. Smith Chestnut maintains, enhances, and extends hair colour by depositing a golden chestnut brown pigment. Almond, lavender and orange peel oil calm the scalp and enrich the hair with vitamins, improving shine, strength and condition. Recommended for coloured and natural medium to dark brown hair.

Silicone Free
Shampoo hair twice and apply Chestnut Masque.
Comb through to evenly distribute product through the hair.
Leave to tone for 2-3 minutes, or for a maximum of 10-15 minutes for a more intense colour.
Rinse out thoroughly.
Almond Oil: Rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A & E, which moisturise and smooth the hair.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein: Strengthens hair to provide shine and body. Conditions the hair cuticle to replenish moisture.

Lavender Oil: Calms the scalp and conditions the hair to promote healthy hair growth.

Orange Peel Oil: Rich in antioxidants and vitamin C which help to condition the hair and cleanse the scalp.

What affects the intensity of tone of Pigments?

Hair condition and colour

The more porous the hair is, from chemical processing, including bleaching and colouring, the quicker you will see a result, and the more vibrant the colour will be.

Application time and frequency of use

Mr. Smith Pigments are buildable, meaning you are in control of your colour.

Amount of water in the hair

  • Softest intensity: apply to damp hair
  • Moderate Intensity: apply to towel dried hair
  • Maximum Intensity: apply to dry hair

Pretty brown tone

This is my favorite pigment for my naturally dark brunette hair (with a few greys). It gives a true chestnut tone without too much warmth/no red and also provides shine.

I love it.

I have naturally dark hair, about 50% grey, colored a lighter brown with highlights. My highlights get brassy and I wanted a more all over color. This stuff helped even out the tone of my hair. I do wish it had even more pigment and a stronger color depositing effect, but happy with the tone! A rich, neutral medium brown. I wish Mr. Smith would make an ash beien as well!

Grey Area

Just want to say that I love the products. I have grey hair and was looking for temporary color. I found the honey blonde mask and loved it. Then I tried the chestnut. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the results I was expecting. Currently using both at once for longer sitting times. This didn’t produce a chestnut color but I’d rather not waste the product. Perhaps the company should consider working more with virgin grey hair? I’d truly appreciate it.
