Hosted at the beautiful Covet & Mane Studio, Mr. Smith was proud to hold the inaugural NYFW Masterclass with Laurent Philippon during New York Fashion Week this year.

The exclusive event presented a memorable experience to connect and exchange ideas with distinguished leaders in the industry. Stylists travelled from across the U.S. and Australia to participate in this wonderful event. Offering an intimate setting that allowed attendees to have meaningful interactions, the Masterclass provided invaluable learning and networking opportunities.

The experience was led by celebrated hairstylist Laurent Philippon, who can be found working with top models such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Bella Hadid, and with renowned fashion publications such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. In a full day of styling demonstrations, Laurent broke down key looks he is known for — from a traditional french chignon to current “effortless runway looks” — sharing invaluable tips and tricks with the class.

Fashion Week has also been an instrumental part of Laurent’s career, keying shows in all cities; New York, London, Milan and Paris. His list of shows consist of designers such as: Bode, Christian Cowan, Etam, Herve Leger, Zadig et Voltaire, Jonathan Cowan, Koché, Lacoste, Mansur Gavriel, Messika, MSGM, Prabal Gurung, Preen and Zuhair Murad. There was no one better to lead a Fashion Week Masterclass such as this. 

Following the event, attendees came together for an intimate dinner with Laurent at the acclaimed Bowery Hotel in New York City. Guests then had the incredible opportunity to join Mr. Smith at New York Fashion Week — assisting backstage at the ADEAM and Kim Shui shows. It was an amazing chance to gain invaluable experience working alongside some of the biggest designers, stylists and creative teams in the industry.
