What are the common causes of dry hair?
Dry hair occurs due to a loss or lack of moisture. This can be caused by a number of external and internal factors. External factors include things like: weather, hair tools and chemical processing. Internal factors include things like genetics, where thick and coarse hair can be passed down.
Weather
If you’ve spent a whole weekend in the sun, your hair is probably dying for some deep hydration. If the temperature drops so does the moisture levels in the air. This can ultimately be to blame for your dry and brittle hair. Dry air essentially sucks the moisture from your strands, leaving them parched and prone to damage.
Hair tools
Heat styling tools can do wonders for your hair but they also do damage. Heat causes damage, breakage and dehydration as it strips moisture from hair.
Chemical processing
Excessive or repeated chemical treatments can produce changes in hair texture. These changes can be seen microscopically as ‘weathering’ of the hair shaft and contribute to dry hair. When the hair is extremely chemically treated, there is damage to the cuticle layers, causing the cuticle to crack.

How do I get the best out of my Luxury Masque?
- Wash hair
- Squeeze freshly shampooed hair of excess water (this allows the hair to absorb as much of the Luxury Masque as possible)
- Apply a ‘chestnut’ sized amount to the mid lengths and ends of hair
- Leave for 5-10 minutes for a deep nourishment
- Rinse thoroughly
