Mr. Smith Creative Director, Freda Rossidis visited Paris earlier this year for Paris Fashion Week – Haute Couture. See what she got up to as she documented her 4 bustling days in Paris.
Day One
I arrived in Paris on a beautiful sunny day. I pre-arranged a driver to pick me up and take me to my Hotel on Rue Cambon — in the heart of Paris. After checking in, I headed for a solo lunch at my favourite restaurant in the area, Hotel Coste. I love this place so much! The food is so simple, fresh and the ambiance is second to none.
Day Two
After a big day working on the Georges Hobeika Show with Laurent Philippon, I walked from the show venue back to my hotel — it was almost a 1hr walk, however one that I do regularly. It is such a beautiful stroll — you really get to see the city at its best. After dropping off my kit, I joined Phil and Nelson (some of my #hairbysammknight family) for dinner and drinks.
Day Three
Myself and a few other hair stylists were picked up from our hotel and taken to the venue for the Vauthier show. After settling in, Sam McKnight briefed us on the hair which was very natural.
After the show, Sam arranged a dinner — it’s always lovely having a group dinner after a show in Paris as you get to debrief on the day. Afterwards we went for a stroll along the river, back to our hotel.
Day Four
After grabbing a quick breakfast, I was picked up by a car and was headed to the Jean Paul Gaultier show. You could feel the excitement and energy as soon as you walked into the building.
After doing hair, the models did a quick rehearsal and we made any necessary tweaks — because everything looks different on the catwalk. The show was magical and up there with every Chanel show I had the privilege to assist on.
Style. Substance. Simplicity.
